Publisher's Description of Celestron Moon Mission Travel Scope 70 Telescope

The special edition Moon Mission Travel Scope 70 offers high-quality performance at an exceptional value—and best of all, you can take it with you anywhere!  The Travel Scope 70 is a refractor telescope perfect for terrestrial and celestial viewing on the go. The Travel Scope can view the planets, Moon, star clusters, and brighter deep sky objects like the Orion Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy at night. The erect image star diagonal also makes the scope ideal for viewing land-based targets during the day.

Setting up the telescope takes just a few minutes—no tools required! You’ll be exploring the universe in no time, even on your first night out. The adjustable tripod legs allow you to extend the telescope to full height or place it on raised surfaces like a picnic table.

Manual Alt-azimuth Telescope

Navigate the sky with a pan-handle alt-azimuth control and clutch for smooth and accurate pointing. Move the clutch up-down or left-right to track your object in the eyepiece.

Accessories Included

The Travel Scope 70 comes with two eyepieces (20mm and 10mm), a 45° erect image diagonal, a 3x Barlow lens, a 5x24 finderscope, a Moon filter, a Moon map, and a travel backpack. The two eyepieces offer different magnifications to view a variety of targets. The erect image diagonal allows for right-side-up viewing, so your telescope works for the night sky or daytime objects like wildlife and landscapes. The 5x24 finderscope will help you quickly center any object in your eyepiece. Connect the 3x Barlow lens to your eyepieces to triple your Travel Scope’s magnification power. Paired with the included eyepieces, the Barlow delivers 60x and 120x magnification for up-close views.

Moon Filter – Reduce the Moon’s bright glare so you can see more details on the lunar surface and observe more comfortably. It only takes a second or two to transform your regular eyepiece into one suited for moongazing. Simply thread this filter onto the bottom of your eyepiece, and you’re ready to go! Moon Filter is also great for observing Venus or bright terrestrial scenes.

Moon Map – This quality two-sided map helps you learn more about our neighboring world, the Moon. Navigate the lunar landscape confidently and identify craters and other surface features you see in your telescope. On the reverse side, the map highlights the most exciting lunar regions to explore with close-up photos and detailed information. The Moon Map is waterproof, tear-resistant, and folds into a compact 8” x 4” size that fits in the Travel Scope backpack for your next camping trip, star party, or backyard stargazing session.

Travel Backpack – Pack up your entire telescope kit plus accessories in this custom-designed travel-friendly backpack. All the telescope’s components fit comfortably inside, with extra room for you to add more accessories later. With the Travel Scope, there’s zero hassle. You can be sure your telescope is always safely stored—and ready to grab and go.
