This 2nd reader (2b) in the Abeka® Grade 2 reading program provides varied reading selections, while reviewing sounds from the phonics charts 9-11, which include sounds such as ung, onk, ear vs ear in earth, ea, and ough (listed in the reader). Reading themes include God’s creation, imagination, contentment, kindness, and will include retellings of Jesus’ parables, short poetry, and an excerpt from Lentil by McCloskey.
