This second installment
of Pilgrim’s Progress captures the reader in a simplified version of
Christiana’s journey to follow her husband on this pilgrimage towards eternity.
The language used is of the Puritan era and reads almost like a play would. New
characters are introduced at the beginning of each chapter, and each chapter
ends with a number of discussion questions and scripture verses. Scripture is
always in the KJV and is littered with vocab words all throughout. These vocab
words could easily be used as spelling words for your students as you progress
through your school year. This book makes a great story time read with its
full-color illustrations and quick dialogue read. The end of the book has a few
brief journal pages that students can fill out as they journey with Christiana
and her children, making this a consumable book. For answers to comprehension
questions and teacher direction, see the Reading
