Description

Piece together your own Challenger 2 Tank with this 954-piece COBI building block set! Part of COBI’s Armed Forces Collection, this set contains the blocks needed to construct one of the most powerful and well-armored tanks in the world.

The Challenger 2 was developed by the British and first saw combat in 1998 when it fought in Iraq and in the Balkans. It is currently being used by Ukrainian forces in the Russo-Ukrainian War. It weighs a massive 64 tons, travels up to 37 mph, and features a 120mm gun that is capable of taking out land and air targets. The tank’s armor is very advanced, made up of extremely hard ceramic tiles that can withstand high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) rounds and other powerful projectiles.

This 1:35 scale model features a rotating turret, working tracks, and hatches that open to reveal the tank’s inner components. A tank driver minifigure also comes with the set. Using a set of COBI construction blocks you can build a modern Challenger 2 tank. This model entered British service in 1998 and is constantly being upgraded. Tanks of this type are used in Oman and Ukraine. The block model was reproduced in a scale of 1:35 using 954 elements. The size of the tank matches the rest of the land vehicles issued as part of the Armed Forces collection. Especially for this model we have developed a new block in the shape of the very characteristic Challenger tank barrel. Under the service hatch there is an engine reproduced from blocks. The model also includes moving elements such as wheels, tracks, a rotating turret and a cannon. The hatch in the turret opens and the included tank figure can be placed there. The figure has two different headgear (helmet + beret with a British emblem). The set also includes two sets of markings to choose from. You can build this tank in either the Ukrainian or British version.

Designed by BAE Systems, Challenger 2 is one of the heaviest and best-armored tanks in the world. Armed with a 120mm main gun and machine guns, it is able to effectively destroy both land and air targets. The Challenger 2 is known for its excellent armor protection, making it a difficult target for the enemy. Since entering service in 1998 the tank has participated in combat operations including in Iraq and the Balkans, earning a reputation for reliability and battlefield effectiveness. Challenger 2 tanks donated by the British are currently participating in combat in Ukraine.
