Description

This is a Bible book study and Church History course all wrapped into one. Relying heavily on KJV scripture, students are walked through the text of Revelation, the context, the audience, and the interpretation of the text. The majority of text focuses on the 7 churches John writes to as representative of the life cycle and history of the Church. These chapters are full of information on great theologians, evangelists, movements, and awakenings. Text is broken up with images, quotes, tables, maps, timelines, and charts. One chapter addresses Satan's Response… in the form of false philosophies and cults (Christian and non-Christian cults). The working definition of a cult presented in the text is: “they teach salvation by works rather than salvation by grace through faith." The rest of the text covers Revelation chapters 4-22 and the things yet to come. Detailing the rapture, tribulation, seals, judgements, second coming, millennium, and the great judgement. This text teaches from a premillennialist viewpoint. It is suggested that you preview this text and gage the material provided for your own denominational beliefs. The focus and theme of the twelfth grade Abeka Bible is on the beginning and the end. First semester focuses on Genesis: Creation. Fall, Flood, Babel (260 pgs., pb) covering the foundations of scripture, the creation, first people and their sin, the flood, the tower of Babel, and the need for apologetics. This is a great course to pick up as a first-time introduction to Bible as the first chapter covers what the Bible is, the impact of the Bible, and then introduces Genesis and the beginnings of God's Word. Second semester focuses on the Book of the Revelation: Church History Lives of Great Missionaries and The Cults (250 pgs., pb) with discussions on the end times, the relevancy of the Churches in Revelation, the rapture, and the tribulation. Designed as a 4-day/week course, and featuring a spiral learning approach, lessons follow a structure of: prayer; verse memorization, teach, and review (scripture references in the KJV).

Each course comes with Teacher Editions of the text in full, with helpful teaching guidance's, scope and sequences, study questions and answers, tips for quizzes, and daily plans (these daily plans are outlines, not scripted lessons).
