Travel around the board from Rivendell, all the way to Mount of Doom while keeping the ring protected from oncoming threats and battles. Roll the dice to determine which characters progress, how many spaces they may move, and which situations or characters (good or bad), they may encounter. The group of fellowship figures includes Frodo and Sam (as the ring bearers), Merry and Pippin, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. The goal is to make it to Mount Doom before all courage is lost or all Nazgûl figures are on the board; otherwise, all players will lose the game.
