Know somebody with dyslexia or
other visual processing issues? This thoughtfully designed Bible reduces visual
stress to make reading easier and more comfortable! It includes 10 colored
overlays (creating up to 19 shades) that can be placed over the page to help
calm visual distraction—something many readers find makes a notable difference.
The layout features 11-pt font
letters with heavier bases to help anchor words to the line, and distinct
letter forms that make commonly confused letters like b/d and p/q easier to
tell apart. Since a full page of words can completely overwhelm someone with
dyslexia, I love the double columns that reduce crowding and the extra white
space between paragraphs to support smoother eye tracking and minimize fatigue.
This navy-blue hardcover Bible is the size of a regular pew Bible (not bulky or heavy!). It also features a ribbon bookmark, 8 full-color maps, and a sturdy, matching storage box. Pages do have some bleed-through from the other side, which could be a bit distracting for some readers, but overall, the design is fantastic. Hopefully this will make the Holy Bible more readable and accessible for many people! ~Nancie
