This 300-piece Woman with a Parasol Puzzle by Today
is Art Dayis high-quality witha durable, round box! I love the
impressionist design by Monet. The blurred image with lots of blue adds an
extra level of challenge. Each puzzle comes in a velveteen drawstring bag
inside of a cylinder (5x3”). The pieces are on the small side at about .75”,
but nice and thick like a traditional, quality puzzle. The finished product
measures 9x12”. I had some concern that the only image you work from is on the
cylinder (and only 2.5x3.5”), so I had to give it a try myself. It is a
challenge, but a good puzzler will figure it out! The shape is perfect for
stockings or baskets. Wrap them like a big piece of candy with ribbons on each
end! It’s a great gift for a hard-to-shop-for person! ~Sara

About Woman with a Parasol In Woman with a Parasol – Madame Monet and Her Son (1875), Claude Monet demonstrates that he is as talented a figure portraitist as a landscape artist. He captures his wife and son in an unexpected moment while walking on a windy summer’s day. Sunlight shines upon her back, while shades of yellow from the flowers below dapple her front.
His signature light and spontaneous brushwork create splashes of color across the canvas: the green of the meadow is reflected in the underside of her parasol; the billowing clouds and swirling skirt of Madame Monet provide a sense of movement against the static figure of Jean, his son, set in background for depth.
In the Today is Art Day puzzle collection, recreate
beautiful Claude Monet paintings one piece at a time. Each 300-piece puzzle comes stored in a
cloth drawstring bag tucked within a cylindrical cardboard container. When
finished, the puzzles each measure 9” x 12”.
