Why play Tic Tac Toe when you can explore the wilderness and start campfires with Tic Tac Trek? This unique twist on the traditional game comes in a tiny tin box and no pencils are required.
Instead of a fixed Tic Tac Toe-like grid, you
will be wandering in the wilderness and setting up campfires, where you will form
a “Tic Tac Trek.” Players take turns
drawing two tiles from the bag and placing them orthogonally adjacent to an
existing tile. If possible, they must match with an existing terrain type; if
not, they can be placed anywhere. Lake tiles are wild and match any other
terrain. When a player has three of their X or O symbols in a row, they place
one of their campfire tokens on the last outward-facing tile of that
group.
The goal of the game is to place all six of your campfire
tokens in spaces that have the most empty areas around them, with one point
awarded for each (including diagonally). The game ends when all terrain tokens
are placed and the player with the most points for their campfires wins! For
two players with a 15-minute game time.
Components: 26 two-sided (X and O) tiles in 5 colors, each representing a different terrain type; campfire tokens with visible fire; cloth bag. There are six each of mountain, desert, grasslands, and forest tiles, with two lake tiles.
Setup: Place tiles in the cloth bag, draw 2 random tiles, place one X and one O side by side to start, and give each player their campfire tokens.
