Category Description for Sing 2 Learn

If you can sing, you can learn! Sing2Learn is an audiovisual program that teaches languages through catchy, appealing songs. Using a full immersion approach (no English), each course contains 15 songs that teach basic vocabulary on an audio CD and DVD. The DVDs feature animated children going about their daily routines at home, in the neighborhood, and in school while the songs play. Subtitled lyrics appear in the target language so you can sing along. As students listen and sing, they learn and retain the vocabulary more quickly than if they were merely studying a textbook. Repetition is key!

A songbook is included with each CD/DVD. It has lyrics to the 15 songs, both in the target language and with English words and phrases off to the side. Complete song translations are in the back. The CD and DVD store easily in vinyl pockets inside the back book cover. There is some general instruction how to use the program and what you can expect from your student as they work through the levels.

The Beginner Level of the program is recommended for grades PK-2. No textbook is used at this level, as the emphasis is on auditory learning. Intermediate Level 1 is intended for grades 3-4, and Intermediate Level 2 and Level 3 are for grades 5-6. These levels introduce more advanced vocabulary than the beginning levels, with the addition of a textbook component. According to the publisher, "Textbook and workbook exercises reinforce vocabulary and introduce grammatical patterns learned through songs and animations." Each Combo Set includes the song book, music CD and animated DVD for the relevant level. We offer the Combo (text/CD/DVD) and flashcards in a bundle now as well.
