The Storybook Latin Year 1 Fables Teacher’s Guide from Logos Press is a comprehensive guide that will show you day-by-day how to implement this program in your home or classroom. Introductory material explains the methodology, the general schedule, and Latin pronunciation. Most of the guide is copies of the Student Workbook with all of the answers filled in. The magic in this Teacher’s Guide is the 4-6 pages of extra material that directly precedes each student lesson. This section is easy to find – just look for the orange bar along the side of the page. Those pages are also numbered separately from the rest of the book.
In each teacher section there is a suggested schedule and a 5-day lesson plan of what concepts to teach and which workbook pages to assign. Many of the activities would work best in a classroom or group environment. After the teacher pages are all the student pages with the answers filled in. When a quiz or test is assigned, the answers for that are included in that lesson of the Teacher’s Guide. In the Latin story section, the English translations are included upside down below the Latin sentence.
There is a wealth of extra resources at the end of the guide: an appendix of all the grammar concepts taught, the Latin questions used in the book, and full glossary. The “Thesaurus Ludorum” is full of more game ideas and is especially helpful for teachers using this book in a classroom setting. 258 pages (plus 179 additional teacher pages), softcover. ~Tara
