As parents, we want our children to understand money and make the most of what they have. Investing, however, is often beyond our ability to explain. Many use professionals for this, but others are willing to do the homework and take on teaching investing themselves. I found this book to be accessible, with a common-sense approach to the market.
I looked for a slant of some kind, but the content seems fairly neutral. Students are encouraged to not blow their money on frivolous things, to think down the road, and to set goals for themselves. Mostly, the topics provide a framework for parents to discuss their views and values with their students.
Topics include budgeting, assets, risk, passive investment strategy, diversification, inflation, real estate tax, IRAs, credit cards, and more. ~Sara
