During the 8th-11th centuries, Vikings
sailed to distant lands looking for treasures. They often plundered and traded
these goods for silver, which was the currency in Scandinavia during the Viking
Era. Knarr Game from Pandasaurus Games is an engaging
card-driven game where players building Viking card sets to gain resources and
points. Discard these cards to purchase and stack Destination cards to earn
additional points and resources. Activate the stacked Destination cards to
generate even more points and resources. When a player gains 40 points and the
round is completed, whoever has the most points is the winner!
Although this game is not complex to learn, there is enough
strategy involved to keep it interesting. The theme is wonderfully carried
through in the well-designed components and in the beautifully illustrated
Viking cards. This is a great game for 2-4 players and takes just 30 minutes to
complete. For more challenge and variety, there are both basic and advanced sides
to each player’s ship that change how resources are distributed during
Destination card activations. Also included is a game play variant using
Artifact cards. To see more information on how this game plays, read the .pdf
manual using the link on this page. I am having a great time with this game and
highly recommend it! ~ Marsha
