The Student Textbook includes 22 short chapters and an extensive reference section. Instruction is divided into 5 main sections: 1. Seven essential steps to writing a great piece of nonfiction writing, 2. The essential parts making up every piece of nonfiction, 3. Common types of nonfiction, 4. Tools and tips to make your writing stronger, 5. Guidance on improving clarity and developing your writing style. The reference section offers common standards and usage examples for formatting assignments, writing outlines, researching documentation, plagiarism, etc. with a glossary to explain confusing terms. Students learn to write persuasive, personal, business, and academic pieces, including essays, research papers, resumes, business letters and more. The 4 Learning Guides outline assignments step by step and chapter by chapter, helping students progress through the book independently, checking off boxes as they go along.
