Publisher's Description of COBI Lockheed P-38 Lightning (H) - 650 pieces (World War II Historical Collection)
Lockheed® P-38 LIGHTNING® was a fast and heavily-armed American long-range fighter aircraft from World War II. This unusual twin-engine plane had a gondola with a pilot's cabin placed between two fuselages. The so-called "flying frame" provided very good performance, which resulted in a long production period lasting from 1941 to 1945 and an excellent number of victories by American pilots. The aircraft was withdrawn from service only in 1965.
P-38 LIGHTNING was released under the original license of the American arms company Lockheed Martin. The plane, precisely reproduced in a 1:48 scale, consists of 332 COBI construction blocks. The model is covered with high-quality prints that do not wear off even during intensive play. The plane also has rotating propellers. This famous plane is a perfect gift idea for fans of aviation, history and technology. It will certainly satisfy even picky collectors and young people fascinated by building blocks.
