Publisher's Description of Veritas History 1815 - Present Enhanced CD

This Teacher's Manual Enhanced CD for the Veritas Press history course 1815 to Present includes the memory song track for the course as well as the electronic version of the 1815 to Present Homeschool Teacher's Manual (which includes a worksheet, at least one project, and a test for each card in that year's series) along with a "how to" video that provides help and guidance. Enhanced materials are in Adobe Acrobat format and can be accessed on the CD-ROM of most Macintosh and Windows computers. Grade 6.

This is one of four teacher's guide options: the homeschool (print) teacher's guide or the homeschool enhanced CD-ROM, and the school (print) teacher's guide or the school enhanced CD-ROM. The difference between the homeschool and school print guides is that the homeschool guide is a softcover while the school version is in the format of loose-leaf pages in a three-ring-binder; in addition, the copyright allows homeschool teachers to make copies for their homeschool classes, and the school version allows teachers to make copies for their classrooms. The content is identical.

Veritas Elementary History offers five different time periods, with each aimed at a different grade level beginning in grade 2 and designed to take one school year. There are a few components to this series that are offered in a kit or sold separately. The Teacher Manual is split into 32 weekly lessons. Each lesson has a worksheet, a project or two, and a test. The color-coded History Cards are an essential element of the program and contain many interesting facts from the various time periods. If the cards also relate to Bible history, they have another color and another number. Songs on the Audio CD are nicely done and designed as a type of auditory timeline.
