This IEW® Structure and Style® for Students Level B, Year 3 course will solidify your student’s composing skills while still providing a challenge. Students can then be ready for high school or IEW® Level 3 writing. Your students should be familiar with the program’s construction, which include engaging lectures from Andrew Pudewa (via 24 DVD’s), practicing unique writing rules and style modifications, composing checklists, MLA format, and more. This additional level provides engaging topics for students to hone skills. Students will retell narratives, practice summarizing, write from pictures, produce inventive writing and formal essays, ending the year with 4 weeks of poetry study. Parent Note: one unit includes articles on prisoners, including escapes from prison.
Optional literature suggestions include Princess Mary’s Gift Book: A Spell for a Fairy; The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place: Book 1: The Mysterious Howling; The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes; The Indian in the Cupboard; Children’s Homer; Journey to the Center of the Earth; The Merchant of Venice (or movie); and A Book of Nonsense. Combine these with literature guides or study questions for a more complete language arts program. Each student will need their own Binder and Student Packet. Additional Student Packets and Teacher’s Manuals are sold separately. ~ Ruth
