The colorful and engaging student workbook for Grade 2
Support Coach helps students build on the foundational skills they learned in 1st
grade. This workbook introduces word problems and problem-solving skills and
boosts critical thinking abilities. Students extend their number knowledge to
the 100s and learn more about money, measurement, and place value. Lessons are
structured in 3 parts. The “Ready” section reviews prerequisite content to
successfully learn the targeted grade-level skill. The “Set” section bridges
the prerequisite skill to the target skill through additional practice. The
“Go” section provides instruction on grade-level skills as well as independent
practice. There are Math Tools located at the back of the student workbook to
cut out and use as hands-on manipulatives. These tools include paper base ten,
counting charts, number lines, counters, paper money, and a ruler. Placing
these in a plastic bag inside your book will help you keep track of these paper
resources. Also provided at the back of the student workbook is a glossary with
pictorial examples for each mathematical word. Each student utilizing this
program will need their own copy of the Student Edition. 283 pgs, paperback.
