Description

The Math with Confidence Fourth Grade Instructor Guide provides helpful getting-started information, scripted lessons, and easy-to-implement activities. At this level, parents and students should expect to spend 30-35 minutes daily, which includes interactive teaching time and independent workbook time. Lessons are grouped into units rather than weeks, which offers families more flexibility for additional review and practice or for a busy schedule. There are 16 units (144 regular lessons). An optional enrichment lesson concludes each unit. Guides also include answer keys and reproducible blackline masters. Math with Confidence Fourth Grade Manipulative Kit and Student Workbooks sold separately. Students begin with a review of multiplication and division, then learn place value and large numbers, mental multiplication and division, fractions and mixed numbers, area and perimeter, angles, geometry, decimals, time, weight, and capacity, line plots and averages, and more. The Instructor Guide, Workbook A, and Workbook B are required for successful completion of the program. Part A covers Units 1-8 (1st semester), and Part B covers Units 9-16 (2nd semester.) Most activities use household items, yet there are a few recommended manipulatives. An optional manipulative set is available.
