There are several components to the Abeka Grammar & Composition with Vocabulary and Spelling. If you have used Abeka before, you are familiar with the Grammar and Composition being together in one book and Vocabulary, Spelling, Poetry being in another. The Revised edition has moved the Composition instruction to what is now called Composition with Vocabulary and Spelling book. Grammar IV helps the student reinforce grammar concepts that were previously taught, build on those grammar concepts, and apply those concepts in writing. Composition with Vocabulary and Spelling emphasizes developing the student’s ability to apply knowledge of grammar to his own writing through the writing process. Your student must learn to write in an organized manner and learn to evaluate and edit so that he can communicate clearly.
