Message
of the Mountain is the third book of the Maple Tree Trilogy. Taking
place in the early 1920’s, the Johnson family moves from a farm in Minnesota to
a country home in the state of Washington. Young John Johnson faces challenges
to use God-centered thinking as he deals with difficult situations like
creationism and evolution, substance abuse, death, salvation, and victory in
Christ. The back of the book has graphic organizers for students to analyze the
characters and how they change and grow. There are also cause and effect
exercises and blank pages to summarize the plot in each chapter. This novel is

Message of the Mountain is the third Christian fiction
novel in the Maple Tree Trilogy. Students will enjoy reuniting with the
Johnsons as the family moves from the country to town. As John is
confronted by new influences and faces important choices, students will
be challenged to think biblically about solving problems and dealing
with difficult situations. Themes include family, substance abuse,
death, creation vs. evolution, salvation, and victory in Christ. This
novel is used for a book report in language class.

Teaches geography and history of the Eastern Hemisphere. Students learn about history from the beginning to the present era. The Fertile Crescent, ancient and modern Middle East and Africa, countries of the far east, Western and Eastern Europe including Ancient Greece and Rome, and Australia are all studied in the course. Christianity is interwoven and missionaries from different countries are included. Students also review eight historical documents and learn key geography terms.
