Description

The Abeka Language Arts 5 Homeschool Curriculum Lesson Plans gives parents confidence with detailed guidance for introducing, practicing, and reviewing each topic. Each day begins with a Preparation list of what pages in Language, Spelling, Reading, and Writing will be covered. Warm-up instruction, a systematic repetition and purposeful review, starts the teaching procedure. New material is covered in a very scripted and guided manner. There are about two pages to every lesson for a total of 170 lessons in the school year. The curriculum plans are broken down to Semester 1 and Semester 2 books.

The large Appendix includes: Grading Rubrics/Research Essay Resources, Book Reports, Literary concepts, Reading Comprehension Grading Record, Adventure sin Nature Reading Record and words per minute chart, Phonics review charts, graphic organizers for literary enrichment, writing rubrics, answers to the Student Spelling book, games, progress reports, and scope and sequence. This content is available in both Book 1 and Book 2.

Bonus feature is a 170-day lesson plan for activity time, found in the back. This is a suggested schedule for a 25-minute daily Activity Time. This allows one day each week for Library, Spelling Bee combined with Classic Story, Music Theory, and Art. Resources used are Songs We Enjoy Grade 5, Art B, classic book (your choice), and Spelling, Vocabulary, and Poetry 6.
