Formerly known as God’s Gift of Language B in the prior edition, the Revised version is rebranded as God’s Gift of Language Grade 5. The layout is different and not compatible with the “B” Edition. This Teacher Key mirrors the student book God’s Gift of Language 5 Student with the answers in blue. The book is spiral-bound and softcover. 345 pgs.
Abeka Language spirals from year-to-year in content. The first half of the book provides the daily 170 lessons of instruction and practice starting with punctuation and capitalization rules: recognition of simple nouns, subjects, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions; word usage, forming plurals and common contractions; recognition of antonyms, homonyms, synonyms; dictionary skills, glossary skills; diagramming subjects, verbs, adjectives, adverbs. The second half of the book starts with a glossary of terms, followed by the writing process section. Here you will find book report prompts for different genres: character, mystery, nonfiction, fiction, biography, and an oral book report. The next section is the research essay project which walks the student step-by-step through the writing process. This starts with the outline, sentence outlines, bibliography cards, list of ideas, preliminary outlines, notecards, essays, rough drafts, and final drafts. The Homework section is next. This gives an additional ten questions for most lessons, and they are easy to identify by the lesson numbers above each set. After this is a “Take 5” section that has five questions of review to start a lesson with. Both the Homework and Take 5 are optional resources that offer additional practice and reinforcement. This takes a little pressure off the amount of work presented in the first half of the book in each lesson. ~AmberAbeka God's Gift of Language 5 Teacher Key
