The Zoo Map Pack 1, introduces two new maps, numbered 9 and 10 with new rewards and rules. There are two copies of these maps included with Map Pack 1.
Map 9 - Geographical Zoo. Five colored map zones match the continent colors on the animal cards. Players put one of their cubes adjacent to each continent icon space on the zoo map. The challenge is to play an animal card with an enclosure on the map area that matches the continent the animal resides in. When accomplished, the player removes the cube and receives any one of five available bonuses. If all five cubes are removed at the end of the game, an additional conservation point is earned.
Map 10 - Rescue Station. Map 10 features the animal digging ability. When one of the ability symbols is covered with an enclosure, the player may choose one card from the display or their hand and slide it under the top of the board in one of three spots. The top icons on the chosen card are used as if they were played in the zoo for the purposes of meeting requirements for sponsor, conservation or animal card pre-requisites.
If you play Ark Nova often and want to add more variety to your map selection, this is a nice expansion. I have played with both new maps and really enjoyed them. Requires Ark Nova Game to play. ~Marsha
