Category Description for Summit Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry
Students
learn at their own pace with this math course as the concepts are easy to
understand and presented in a step-by-step process. The 6 consumable books
(instead of a thick textbook) allow for a less intimidating feel and a sense of
accomplishment as students complete each one. Each book has 2 parts. The first
part has guided discovery scenarios which are brief explanations to new concepts
that allow students to build on what they already know. After each explanation,
students work through a few practice problems (including word problems) directly
in the book. Students can check their answers with the answer key at the end of
each section. The second part contains extra practice and review to reinforce learning.
The content in this series is equivalent to some precalculus courses with a
thorough coverage of trigonometry. A
placement test is available. ~ Gina
