Children
love animals! Master Books offers a biblical homeschool curriculum for grades
1-2 that can also be used by early learners or for remedial practice for older
learners. Here is a writing program that centers around God’s creations and
teaches letters, words, short sentences, numbers, and simple punctuation. A
5-day per week schedule for 180 days (36 weekly lessons) takes approximately
20-30 minutes each day to complete. An open-and-go scope and sequence includes a
convenient daily schedule and supply list for the hand-strengthening exercises.
Most
lessons include a series of Read, Warm Up, Get Ready to Write, Find, and
Practice. The fun hands-on activities help to strengthen the student’s hands –
teaching tracing, letter identification, hand strength, focused activity
skills, and challenges. Lessons 32-26 present super skills sections where
students will apply their handwriting skills to write Scripture. Scripture
quotations are taken from the New Living Translation. Additional practice
sections include pre-assessments, post-assessments, optional review assessments
(starting at day 30), handwriting rubric to grade review assessments,
activities rubric, additional activity tear-out pages, and answer keys.
