Description

When we hear “Charlotte Mason,” our minds go to books and studying nature. Through this CopyWorkBook, the Writings of Charlotte Mason, we learn of the character and life skills she sought to instill in her students. These are practical, wise sayings students can copy, put to memory, and apply. The goal is to set a model example and exerting the effort to achieve it. The quotations are printed twice: first, in large print and then just below, in cursive (a simple traditional style). You can choose which to copy. Why not both? I love that students can read these in cursive—those opportunities are often quite rare.

Quotations are organized by theme: Mottos and Advice; Books; Habits; Nature; Thinking Character; and Math. The number of quotations also varies (just one in Math; 14 in Character). This book is about good life habits rather than merely an homage to Charlotte. Some excerpts are lengthy and some shorter: “We should always have something worthwhile to think about, that we may not let our minds dwell upon unworthy matters.” This consumable book has 1 cm wide spaces for writing. An additional Note section gives ample room for writing again—or even copywork of your own choosing. Includes a bibliography, with references for every quotation included.102 pages, bound consumable, softcover. ~ Ruth
