Category Description for My Thankfulness Journals

Cursive penmanship practice? Yes, but with a purpose. Each day the student is encouraged to remember the pleasant details of the day and to spend some moments writing a thank-you letter to the "giver of every perfect gift." To help with the remembering process, there is a scripture verse (KJV) for each page plus enough structure to provide getting-started comfort. In the Beginner Journal, each page starts with "Dear God, Thank you for the blessing of this day" (with dotted letters so the student can trace over). Then follows five numbered lines so the student can enumerate his blessings before signing off with "Yours, ____" (a reminder that in Jesus Christ, he is God's loved and redeemed child). Lines are 3/8" with a dotted middle. The Intermediate Journal has narrower lines (5/16" with dotted middles), but the same general idea in terms of writing a gratitude letter with eight lines provided for listing thankfulness items. Each book includes an uppercase and a lowercase letter stroke chart which helps keep the New American Cursive penmanship practice on track. There are 75 pgs in each 6" x 9" pb book. ~ Janice
