A magnet and board combination for reading, spelling, and handwriting! The 12”x 16” (including frame) dual-sided magnet board provides multiple avenues for learning. One side includes a single, dual-lined, 1 ½” wide space for single words. The opposite side provides two sets of lines (a 1 ½” wide space) to allow you to, among other options, model words and skills while your child follows your lead. Inside the magnetic-closure box are all the magnets needed for this blackboard. First, the 52 lowercase magnetic letters are categorized by how they are written: descending letters, vowels, and tall letters. Two included ñ letters allow you to create Spanish words. Special hand-shaped magnets (22) help students focus on how each lowercase letter is made. While other magnets help identifying sounds produced (7 tokens) and 5 heart magnets identifying diphthongs (2 vowels making 1 sound). The included 29-page activity booklet provides simple, straightforward directions for unique activities. Activities are identified by what skills are being learned. This booklet also includes ideas that can incorporate the Touch & Flip® letters. The Letters to Words kit and the magnetic blackboard come in a cardboard storage box. ~ Ruth

Use the Letters to Words Blackboard Set in English and Spanish-speaking classrooms for fun, hand-on literacy learning that builds alphabet knowledge, phonological awareness, phonics, and handwriting skills. Includes: Magnetic Blackboard, 52 magnetic lowercase letters, 22 magnetic hands, 7 magnetic sound tokens, and 5 magnetic hearts.
Lessons start with the simplest form—capital letters first—grouped together by how they are formed. This volume contains 36 pages focused on capitals. Then, students move to learning lower case. By year’s end, students are tracing an individual letter (both in upper and lower case) in provided sentences. The strongly recommended Teacher Book guides parents in using the unique methodology and provides step-by-step lessons, along with reading and writing connections. The easily identifiable teaching directions are scripted. Using the Teacher Book along with the student text and manipulatives is strongly recommended. Students will learn proper hand grip and letter formation, using the student consumable. The necessary manipulatives (see package KSK25B) include the Letters to Words Blackboard Set; the blackboard with double lines; slate chalkboard with chalk bits; little sponge cubes; the pencil for little hands; and teaching songs (available for free on YouTube®). Other manipulative options such as the Magic C Bunny Puppet or the Student Manipulative Pack are also available. You can add these options in, depending on your student’s need.
