Featuring monster illustrations from ABC See, Hear, Do Level Six: Learn to Read Sight Words, this book makes learning to read fun and engaging.
Category Description for Level 6 Books

Learning to Read Sight Words can be used in order of the levels or when you feel your child is ready to memorize sight words. It can even be used alongside another level. Work at your child’s pace and do one sight word at a time, or work in batches.

List of sight words learned: the, is, was, are, were, to, of, and, for, have, as, you, his, do, from, out, said, could, one, all, there, what, who, know. Monster illustrations are used to demonstrate the hand motion to use when saying the sight word and instructions on how to perform it are under the illustration. Some of the motions used are similar to the signs used by American Sign Language for that sight word. The entire word is underlined, indicating that it is a special word. After four sight words, a review page is used to test what students have learned. The end of the book reviews all 24 words without picture guides. For an extra challenge, there are 12 additional high frequency sight words included that you can sound out. The picture guides are under each sound. They include: be, in, it, on, with, he, her, she, we, up, like, which.

*If your student is new to this program, either level 1 or level 2 Learn to Read books will be helpful in learning the individual letter sounds and motions. Level 3 teaches 17 beginning blend sounds and level 4 teaches 17 blend ending sounds. Level 5 teaches the long vowel sound. There is an alphabet guide and sight word guide at the end of this workbook to reference.
