Description

What can be said about Anne, that Anne has not already said? Progeny Press offers an Anne of Green Gables Study Guide that enraptures readers from the start in Anne’s world. Anne herself has a precocious vocabulary—which is reflected in the vocabulary activities in each section. This guide breaks down chapters into larger chapter chunks, 5-8 chapters per section. After vocabulary work comes comprehension questions, then scripture connections and application. Literary topics include similes, paradox, alliteration, personification, foreshadowing, and more. Prereading Activities provide context to what you will read. There are Essay and Writing suggestions to make connections with what you just read. A catered list of age-appropriate Further Reading books is provided. Answers are in the back on perforated pages for easy removal. 68 pages, softcover. ~Rebecca

Publisher's Description of Anne of Green Gables Study Guide | Progeny Press
When Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew send for an orphan boy to help Matthew on the farm, Anne Shirley, a skinny, red-headed girl who never stops talking, arrives instead. From the beginning, Matthew's heart is captured by this "kindred spirit" and he decides he wants to keep her. Marilla reluctantly agrees to this, but eventually finds herself entranced by Anne's chatter, amused by the scrapes Anne gets herself into, and frustrated with Anne always having her head in the clouds. As Anne grows, Marilla finds her a "genius for getting into trouble." Yet, as Anne says, "have you ever noticed one encouraging thing about me, Marilla? I never make the same mistake twice."
A book full of fun, close scrapes, and love. As Anne says at the end of the book, "'God's in his heaven, all's right with the world.'"
