All About Math Level 3 Activity Book is filled with colorful activity sheets for kids to practice the concepts they just learned. These are not boring worksheets with lots of exercise problems but a variety of hands-on, interactive activities. For example, in lesson 21, students cut out 12 ice cubes that each display a multiplication fact. They glue the correct ice cubes on the glasses of lemonade that match the array beside it. Extra math games are at the end of each new concept lesson. Short math practice pages (no more than six problems) review and reinforce what students have already learned. Story problem pages allow students to apply concepts to real-world math. Also included are a fun progress chart and Daily Review Tracker (a way to keep track of skills that are mastered and need to be reviewed). A Certificate of Achievement is at the end of book to present to your child after completing the program. If you don’t have the Darby’s Math Tools or themed stickers, you will want the Student Packet that includes these resources and the Activity Book. ~ Gina

do not necessarily correspond to grade levels – the goal is to master topics before moving to more advanced concepts. Some concepts taught in Level 3 include identifying fractions on a number line, identifying equivalent fractions, comparing fractions with the same numerator or denominator, learning three-dimensional shapes, solving one-step and two-step story problems involving measurement and money, identifying and explaining patterns in the multiplication table, understanding the relationship between multiplication and division, reading and writing numerals up to nine digits, multiplying a one-digit number by a two-digit number, and dividing within 100.
This program emphasizes strong conceptual understanding.
Worksheets are not drill based but rather activity and game based. The Math
Reflection questions at the end of each lesson help students verbalize their
thought process and reinforce their understanding of the concepts. Both teacher and student materials are included in the Level 3 Materials set. The Teacher’s Manual
has 41 scripted lessons that are designed to be spread out over a number of
days. It is recommended to spend around 20 minutes a day on math unless your
child is eager to continue. The Student Pack includes Flip Into Math
Activity Book, Darby’s Math Tools (cardstock manipulatives including place
value charts and disks, fraction shapes, number line, multiplication table, and
more), and themed stickers. Games, real world application worksheets, and other
activities help new concepts “stick” and kids to stay engaged in their
learning. One
manipulative kit used for all grade levels is available to purchase separately.
Students also need a small dry erase board with markers. ~
