At this level, students start the
year by quickly overviewing capital letters (about 5 pages) and then spend over
40 pages reviewing lowercase (letter order retains the same famous HWT developmental
order). After each letter grouping, review pages provide word, sentence, and
paragraph writing practice—putting skills learned into practice. Exercises near
the course’s end practice multiple language skills such as copying sentences in
paragraphs, selecting correct vowels, alliteration, writing antonyms, sign language

level assumes that students have been introduced to and have some experience
with the HWT unique methodology and now are ready to fine-tune handwriting
skills. They will also transition to applying handwriting in short writing
assignments. Handwriting tasks also introduce concepts such as homophones,
special punctuation like apostrophes, and proper nouns such as cities and
