This colorful workbook introduces number concepts and writing for numerals 1-20. Phonics instruction begins with short vowels; progressing to simple consonants and long vowels. Numbers are covered in numerical order, but letters are introduced in the distinctive Abeka presentation order (i, u, e, a, o; then adding consonants and beginning blending – t, l, b, n, m, etc.). Blend ladders are introduced and used to facilitate the front-end blending. Worksheets have colorful pictures that feature large letters and picture/sound associations. Activities include circling, coloring, tracing, counting, and matching. Students complete two pages per day and are expected to write their name at the top of one worksheet daily. Most pages are front and back but some are single-sided so students can “take them home." 277 pgs.
