Great for youngsters who love to create and design new things, this inventor kit includes a variety of craft supplies that can be used to create various inventions. The instruction book includes 10 inventing challenge prompts for the user to follow. Once the included supplies run out, they can easily be purchased to restock the inventor’s inventory. The included supplies are as follows: 3 tape rolls, 3 packs of thread, 5 sheets of felt, 20 glue dots, 20 hook and loop dots, 10 straws, 60 pom poms, 8 clothespins, 10 google eyes, 10 small cups, 10 dowel rods, 6 wooden wheels, 10 feathers, 3 foam sheets, 75 craft sticks, 5 sheets of construction paper, and a laminated inventor’s idea card with dry-erase marker. Additional materials from home will also be used for these projects.
Here is an example of an invention challenge, “Deshawn likes to play outside with his pet turtle. Design and build a shelter to keep his turtle cool when it is hot and sunny.” There is also a tip for each project, as well as a “Think Bigger” question to provoke thought or build add-ons to the invention for an additional purpose. The inventor’s idea card provides a step-by-step process for the creator to explain and draw the desired creation. ~ Brianna
