The F-35B is the successor to the AV-8B Harrier II aircraft in the US Marine Corps. The F-35B is a Marine Corps variant, characterized by short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) capability, allowing for Operating from smaller aircraft carriers as well as from field airfields, it is capable of carrying out close support, bombing, and air combat missions.
