The Restaurant Entrepreneur is designed for middle and high school level students. The integrated Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Computer Applications simulation is designed in an easy-to-read, self-guided format. The student will be the owner of their own business from planning to opening. As the student travels through the projects in the simulations, they will be guided by “Amanda” as she creates her own restaurant. Following each project, students will see a page titled “In the kitchen with Amanda Sanchez.” These pages will help them see how her story unfolds. The pages also contain samples of the documents that Amanda created. Students should use these samples as a guide to help them create their own.
All resources are no longer available on CD but instead are available online. To access student sample resources, visit www.eReadiness.com. Select the course and click on the student file. The forms will be found under the “Project Planning Forms” file. Each of the 26 projects will take approximately 27–31 hours to complete, depending on the student’s skill level.

This simulation is designed to be used as a reinforcement supplement to Microsoft Office–based courses. In order to complete this simulation, students should have a basic working knowledge of the following (or equivalent software applications):
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Publisher
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Access
- Drawing or illustration software
The projects in this simulation are designed to be completed using any version of the software listed above. For that reason, project instructions have been generalized and do not provide step-by-step instructions. When you combine the Overview reading and projects, this could be counted as a semester course worth ½ credit on a transcript. A suggested schedule would be 2 days a week. The textbook is spiral-bound. 86 pages. ~Amber
