Description

The second volume in A Child’s Geography from Master Books explores the Middle Eastern countries of Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan over the course of 16 chapters. Each chapter is split into 2 sections, allowing flexibility for younger and older students with the weekly readings. Through the engaging and colorful text, students will explore this culturally rich area through photos, maps, and narratives. Adventure Challenges in each chapter ask questions covering the materials just read. Mapping activities throughout have students drawing locations, houses, and their own maps. The Travel Log activities at the end of each chapter prompt students to document things that they want to remember about that specific location. Each chapter is filled with vocab words, differing skills worksheets that reinforce concepts, and creative activities (poetry, calligraphy, games, recipes, and more) that bring geography to life. Beginning material includes teacher information: the schedule, materials lists for each chapter, and how-tos for the course. Ending materials include Scripture copywork (taken from the KJV), chapter reviews, and answer keys. You may find it helpful to have a student atlas open while you work. 400 pgs., paperback. ~Rebecca
