BFIAR
My 2 yo son and I have really been enjoying BFIAR! I think it has been great for me as a new homeschooling mom... I needed something simple yet intentional to ease us into the preschool years. BFIAR has been perfect because it is age appropriate, really cultivates a love for learning (love seeing my son's eyes light up when he is thinking about what we are talking about/reading and when he "gets" it!) and the books used with the lessons will favorites for several years to come, I am sure. And it is just FUN!

Easy to get started, easy to follow.
What a wonderful resource. I love the simplicity of this program. It's really just about the love of books. We are secular learners, but love the universality of the bible quotes and how it's a piece that is easily left out, if we choose to do so. The book list is full of well-chosen, classic books. My only complaint is the lack of multiculturalism. All books either have the main characters as animals or the main characters as Caucasian.

Well written!
I am finding this resource so interesting and helpful. It is thoughtfully written and has made our story time so exciting. My 4 year old loves all the time and attention he gets while we are reading through our library books and working on activities suggested in this resource. I am very pleased.

wonderful, wonderful, wonderful product.
Before Five in a Row is a wonderful beginning into our home school adventure. My son has loved all the books that we have read so far. The activities are just at his level. The discussion questions really engage my son in the reading process and because we are reading the books 5 days in a row he actually notices things in the pictures of the book that he probably would not notice if we read through it just once. As a mom I am extremely happy with this product. My son enjoys it, and I enjoy it what more could I ask for.

Our 3 year old LOVES the books and learning through this!
We have been very happy with the BFIAR products. We ordered the instructional book and the set of books for our son. He LOVES them. I try to read through a week before each new book that we row and find additional books to complement the lessons from the local library. We also use Pinterest as a great resource to go along with the ideas in the lessons as well. Using the BFIAR has helped our son who is 3 to get even more excited about reading and he is drawing connections between life running errands, other books, playing at home and his books we are rowing- which is so exciting! We hope he continues to love them and will plan on using the products as he gets older. We were unable to locate the Yellow Ball book (out of print) and then borrowed the My Blue Boat from the local library as it also did not come in our set. Otherwise- we have no complaints! :)

Great resources!
I do like "Before Five in a Row" because it has lots of really great resources included in the back of the book. It also has some incredible ideas for various aspects of raising a preschooler. For example: ideas to do in the grocery store. That is why I love this product.
I will say however, that I misunderstood what I was receiving. I thought that the classic children's books were included, but they are not! And it makes sense to me now, since the price you pay would be a steal if all of the books were included, but that is really why I bought BFIAR. I am still keeping it just for the ideas in the back and resources.
I also like the way she gives you different ways of teaching your child from one book (Biblical aspect, Scientific aspect, etc), but I think you can also get those same great ideas from other moms with older children, or maybe even pinterest. We were already doing that sort of thing with our daughter so it didn't really add to how we were teaching her, it just broadened our selection of books we chose at the library.
all in all I do recommend this product, just for the treasure of resources and real life teaching ideas!

Is this book a digital download or an actual book?
A shopper on Aug 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I received a spiral bound FIAR manual. The cover was in colour, and the rest of the pages were black and white. I did not have to print it myself. I hope this helps.
It looks like this curriculum is just talking about books? Is there more to it than that? I don't want to spend 35 dollars if it's something as simple as reading and discussing books, which we already do....Thanks!
A shopper on Mar 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There are two parts to this book. Part one is 20+ chapters each on different books. It gives bible verses, crafts and activities that go along with each book (sometimes it's nice to have other ideas that I hadn't thought of). Part two are more suggestions and activities to do with your young child that are unrelated to the books (I haven't used this one much).

I'm looking at doing Five in a Row with my twins for kindergarten and my second grader next year. I am doing Before Five in a Row now for fun to get a feel for how it works and if it will be a good fit for our family

Is this book a digital download or an actual book?

BEST ANSWER: I received a spiral bound FIAR manual. The cover was in colour, and the rest of the pages were black and white. I did not have to print it myself. I hope this helps.
It looks like this curriculum is just talking about books? Is there more to it than that? I don't want to spend 35 dollars if it's something as simple as reading and discussing books, which we already do....Thanks!
