This set is color-coded with each of the Special Sound charts represented by a different color card border. Short vowel blends are on one side of the card while long sounds are on the reverse side. Each sound is represented by sample words. In this Set B, the sample words are written in small print at the bottom of each card. The words on one side of the card are for the sounds from the reverse side of the card. All vowel sounds are marked “?" for short vowel sounds and “?" for long vowel sounds. 149 total cards made from colorful, heavy cardstock.

Each card combines a blend of two or three consonants from Phonics Charts 6–8 with a short vowel sound on one side of the card and a long vowel sound on the other side of the card.
