Focusing on combustion science, the 23 teacher-created experiments will inspire and teach the young scientist in your family. Kit contents include a Career and Lab Guide with safety information, step-by-step instructions and explanations, and lab supplies/chemicals. Included supplies are balloons, candle, citric acid, clothespin, cork stopper, cotton swab, craft sticks, filter papers, food coloring, funnel, iron powder, measuring cups, measuring spoon, Geyser notecard, paper straw, pipettes, protective gloves and goggles, rocket stickers, sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, test tube, thundering paper, and yarn. Additional household items are also required. Additional supplies needed include aluminum foil, cooking oil, coated candies, dish soap, rubbing alcohol, cornstarch-based powder, ice cubes, lemon juice, milk, napkins, zip bags, plastic water bottles, soda, masking tape, toilet tissue, vinegar, and water. Additional tools that you provide include bike pump, chairs, colored markers, cookie cutter, large bowl/plate, lighter (or match), microwave, ruler or yardstick, timer, scissors, skewers, small dish and plate, and strainer. A sampling of the unique activities includes making rocket fuel pellets, a bottle rocket, a Lava Lamp and even a plastic cookie. Parental supervision required.
