Fun and my son can work on most exercises independently. Illustrations are simple but entertaining.

All About Spelling has been great in terms of reviewing phonics and rules, but it's become tedious and time-consuming and my daughter and I both dread it. I need to find something she can do more independently (which is preferred method anyway), something she can have fun with, and something she can complete in about 10 minutes a day every day (she really struggles with spelling and needs the daily interaction with it). This seems to fit all requirements.

Have successfully used the entire series with my older children. They enjoy the variety of exercises within the lessons. They work on it pretty independently.

I read several Cathy Duffy reviews with my son who is struggling with spelling, and after reading the review and looking through the sample pages on Rainbow Resources' website, this is the program that looked most appealing to both him and me.

Need a spelling program that can be done somewhat independently. Had great success with this with my oldest.

Not boring.

Need a simple speller workbook and this one is recommended by Cathy Duffy. Since it's low cost it's worth a try. Hoping my boys like it : )

I have heard great things about this program from other homeschooling families, and I'm excited to try it with my daughter this year.

2nd grader learns well and likes workbooks. She doesn't need Explode the code, but enjoyed the workbooks.

What is the difference between A and Aa?
Candi on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: First you do book A (about half a year's worth of spelling lessons, at one per week)... then you move to Aa. They follow each other. Same with the rest of the series (first do B, then Bb).
