Good
I like the Math in Focus series. We did supplement with additional practice problems in addition and subtraction for memorization. But that’s a personal preference. Like the curriculum.

Is the teacher's edition necessary?
User on May 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: In my opinion, you don’t absolutely have to have it, but it does make the program easier for the following reasons. 1. Common core math isn’t always intuitive, so there’s more explanation about how to guide the child toward the goal. 2. It’s like a lesson planner in that it tells you how many days to spend on each lesson and points you towards alternatives for struggling or gifted learners (what to review, supplemental material with workbook, etc.). 3. It has a “teacher resources” section in the back with the templates to photocopy for some of the lessons (place value charts, calendar template, graph pages, etc.). Ultimately though, it’s 1st grade math, so you most likely won’t need it for the answer key :)
Which version is this? 2009 or later?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, 2009 and later (workbook). Copyright dates: Workbook-CC: 2013; Textbook - 2009; Teacher Manual - 2009
