So far so good
We're just two weeks in to this curriculum, but we're really liking it so far. It's a great introduction to the IEW way of doing things. I'm using it with a second grader and dyslexic 3rd grader. It's a great level for them, not too hard, so they can feel successful, and not overwhelmed. It gets tougher as it goes on, but it's incremental, as it should be. I'm very happy with it so far.

Love this book!
After using another IEW product for my older kids and thoroughly enjoying it, I decided to try this with my 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. They love it and I love the fact that I can teach them all at the same time. Today we were done with the lesson and I asked them if they wanted to continue to the next activity and they all said, "Yes!" in unison. It is easy to alter the work to make age appropriate, my youngest cannot write her own paragraphs so she dictates to me, I type it out and she writes it on her own. This curriculum helps build so many essential skills.. I wish I had found it sooner!

A win!
My 8 year old loves these lessons. He has so much fun reading about each Bible Hero, then re-writting his own version of the story using the TWSS techniques. He is also gaining public speaking skills each time he presents his newest story to whichever family member he can catch at the moment!

Great for beginning writers
I use IEW for all of my kids and love all of their writing books. This one is a perfect entry book for my twins, who are in second grade.

Great way to introduce IEW to a young student
My oldest two have done IEW before, but they were older when they started. My youngest is doing a great job and catching on quickly with the lessons.

I love working with IEW. If I am going to write with little ones, then I want it to be in this way!

I wanted to be reminded about His grace while teaching my children. AM thankful that IEW has an intro level book with bible characters and teachers virtues to go along with it!

I want to incorporate writing and bible together. This seems like a good fit for my early age child.

I searched on the internet for a program that uses the Bible to teach writing and that's how I found this book. I want to help my struggling 10 yr old learn to write and teach Bible concepts at the same time. I'm looking forward to using this book.

We've been using Writing With Ease, and I'm not totally happy with it. It provides a lot of narration, copywork, and dictation, but not really any actual writing. I've used IEW with my older child and was very happy with it, and want to start my younger children with the program.

I love the IEW program for older students so I thought this could be a good introductory program. If nothing else we will read Bible passages.

Great writing program for my younger student in prep for entering the IEW program at our school in coming years.

I was excited to start IEW's "Structure and Style" with my 3 kids, but wanted something that would hit all their ages at once

I'm excited to introduce our family to IEW. My children will be in 6th and 4th grade but it was recommended to me by a seasoned homeschool parent to use Bible Heroes as a great introduction to the IEW process.

Can I teach this if I have no experience with IEW?
A shopper on Mar 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am teaching it to my 2nd grader this year having no experience with IEW, except for having done some research on who they are and their teaching methods through their website and catalogue. I don't even have a teacher manual, which means sometimes I don't have directions for some of the pages with "games" but it works out anyway (I just make up my own version of the game, they look pretty simple). I'm sure we could benefit even more if I had watched the DVDs about teaching style and structure, but we're getting plenty out of it! There's plenty of directions right in the student book for what to do, in my opinion of course. Hope this helps!
