Description

If you have a student ready to deepen their knowledge of watercolor painting, this book has both instruction and practice pages! The practice pages in the book are heavy paper and have a faint image outline for you to fill. You could carefully pull these out or leave them in the book. I would want to work on them on a table so I could look back easily at the lovely instruction. These pages are gummed and easy to remove. A reference at the bottom tells you where to find that particular lesson. They recommend using materials such as masking fluid (aka drawing gum or liquid frisquet) to cover the white paper, paint over, and remove when the paint dries. Also, masking tape, rice, salt, brushes, and paints. They recommend having 12 colors, but all you really need are red, yellow, and blue. For brushes: size 1 pointed for detail, size 3 pointed for general use, size 10 flat for large washes of color, and either a household or sea sponge. For additional paper, choose 140# watercolor paper. For a smooth finish, choose hot pressed; and for a textured finish, choose cold pressed or grained. ~Sara
