Description

I was struck at the beautiful illustrations that make up this storybook Bible. From cover-to-cover, every page is full of color and quality design features. The illustrations, however, do not take away from the focus of the book and play with the text well. Colors are a beautiful, soothing pallet. The language used throughout the book, even in the more descriptive, informational sections, is user-friendly and can speak into the hearts and lives of children and adults. The text is filled with voice, humor, and biblical guidance. The author takes creative liberties to explain and draw the reader into the Biblical text. Psalm 23 is one of these examples in interpreting this poem and making a poem out of it. This scripturally sound bible storybook breaks scripture into 7 sections: the Pentateuch, history, poetry, the prophets, the Gospels, Acts and epistles, and Revelation. What a wonderful resource for the whole family. 526 pgs, hc. ~Rebecca
