I’m glad this refers to the NLT when making the stories. But how does this compare, specifically in appropriateness for a 3rd grader, with other comic style Bibles (such as Action Bible, Kingstone)?

BEST ANSWER: I remember thumbing through the Epic Bible and recommending that one because it is very scriptural. The “dialog” and writing is straight from scripture and stays very accurate to the scriptural text and stories. It also has a focus on Spiritual Formation as it ends each section with questions to consider about your own spiritual formation. The Kingston graphic Bible is by far the most comprehensive graphic Bible that would be why it is broken into 3 volumes. Then the Action Bible comes with so many additional options from the graphic Bible to the Study Bible and additional devotionals it is also pretty comprehensive as well. The Epic Bible also includes some of the Apocrypha texts as well. Each graphic Bible is illustrated by different comic book illustrators, if there is a preference to a drawing style downloading the samples of each could help to see and compare the illustration styles. The action Bible is geared towards a middle school age-range. ~Rebecca
