Product Description:
If you have always wanted to be part of a team tasked with building a famous cathedral, The Red Cathedral is a game that gives you the experience of helping construct the famous St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. The actual cathedral depicted in this game was built in the 1500’s by Tsar Ivan and is now a UNESCO world heritage site and museum. In this game, players take turns claiming and purchasing doors, windows and spires that make up the cathedral. Each of these building parts indicate the resources needed to complete it, and the point and dollar values earned. Using dice, players roll for the resources needed to complete these building parts. Besides the bricks, rocks and wood needed for construction, jewels and gold are also obtained to adorn the cathedral. Once a player obtains the needed resources to complete a part of the cathedral, they receive the indicated money to purchase additional parts and earn points to advance their marker on the prestige board. The game ends when one player has completed all their six parts of the cathedral. As the building is comprised of four sections, the strategy is to build the most parts in each section and earn the most points for the win. This “2020 Golden Geek Medium Game of the Year Nominee” is easy to learn, strategic to play and also has a solo mode. For 1-4 players, with a playtime of 60-90 minutes.
