The influence of Christian belief is foundational to scientific discovery and understanding. The author focuses upon the key controversies that came to the forefront during the twentieth century as the Christian faith lost it’s hold as a shared, communal faith and became merely a private, individual belief. This is an excellent introduction to our history of science and faith, and what it means for Christianity to be developed into a complete worldview that shapes our understanding of the world around us. It’s easy to understand how this book earned a place in the Classical Conversations Challenge B recommendations.
