Meaningful Mini-Lessons & Practice: Language Grade 4
- Identifying and correcting inappropriate shifts in pronoun number/person
- Identifying vague pronouns—ones with unclear or ambiguous antecedents—and correcting them
- Identifying variations from standard English in writing and speaking, and using various strategies to better their expression in conventional language
In this series, mini lessons give targeted instruction in language by breaking them down into manageable chunks in a structured format. Language lessons focus on grammar usage and vocabulary practice. Each standards-based lesson gives step-by-step instructions (which should take about 10-15 minutes). The lessons are followed by guided practice pages with instructional support and independent practice pages to reinforce each concept. An answer key and assessments are included in the back. If you are looking for a resource to teach standard-based language, this series provides purposeful mini lessons and guided practice to build your student’s competency in these areas of language arts.
These materials are also comprehensive in scope but are supplemental as opposed to more complete programs.
